wot a dymanic guy, wot a great talent ! he wrote the songs....
Summertime Blues Come On Everybody Three Steps to Heaven all of them classic early rock songs. On his tour of the UK early in 1960 ( with Gene Vincent ) he inspired many young pop musicians.
He was an innovative musician and taught the young Joe Brown a whole new style of playing the guitar . Eddie was a bit of a rock sensation in those early, pre Beatle days. Tragically it all ended on Saturday night 16th of April 1960 when the taxi he was travelling in hit a lampost near Bath in Somerset, Eddie died later in hospital. He had achieved so much in writing and performing pop music yet the guy was still only 21 years old ! Like Buddy Holly he was a pop genius who died young. Eddie ... born in Minnesota, was a massive talent..... who knows how his song writing talent would have developed during the poptastic 60s ?
