  He died on stage in  1918, attempting to catch a bullet in his mouth.


The great series of plagues that had shadowed England's history finally came to an end
when the  Brown Rat  finally drove out the Black Rat.
The Brown Rat  harboured a different kind of  flea.

 Lady Diana  visited Mother Teresa  in India.  Diana knew that  her charity had received millions

Plautus is said to have spent his whole life in the  theatre.  He wrote 150 plays, 21 of which
have survived. His comedies are the earliest surviving intact works in Latin literature.
 Plautus' comedies are mostly adapted from Greek models for a Roman audience, and are often based directly on the works of the Greek playwrights.
 He reworked the Greek texts to give them a flavour that would appeal to the local Roman audiences.
He  was an actor as well as playwrite.


 John Rich  became the manager of Lincoln's Inn Theatre  and  came
to be known as the  ... Father of English Pantomime.
 The Frenchman Charles Perrault  became a huge influence on English Pantomime.
In 1695, when he was 67  he  decided to dedicate himself to his children and published
'Tales and Stories of the Past with Morals' (Histoires ou Contes du Temps passé) (1697),
with the subtitle: 'Tales of Mother Goose'

    Charles Perrault's book became the source of plots for some of the most enduring pantomimes.


By the  autumn of  1918  London was a frightened city....  having lost  18,000 of its citizens
 to  the  Spanish Flu  in just a matter of weeks.

accident with Lady Diana.

 "The  30  Years War"   1618 to 1648.... began as a protest by Bohemian Protestants
against a violation of thir religious rights.  
It developed into a revolt against the  Hapsburg Emperor Ferdinand 2nd.
 It  also  became a struggle for territory between the Hapsburg Empire .. France... Spain and Sweden.
France emerged with her frontiers enlarged and her influence enhanced.
 The Hapsburg  power was  curtailed to mainly Austria.
 It all  ended in 1648  with the Treaty of Westphalia .


 In 70 years we have gone from the first crude air flight.... to walking on the moon.
Most of the huge leaps of technology took place after 1947....... is it just a coincidence
that Roswell happened in 1947  ?
Rumour has it that at Roswell   the US Military intelligence captured aliens who have since
brought on the astounding technology... computors, digital TV  etc..... that we see around us today.

Dorothy Kilgallen was  murdered ?  in 1965.
She investigated the Kennedy assassination and discovered that  Ruby, Oswald and Bernie Weissman all met up in Ruby's strip club a week before the assassination.

The poor guy survived the space flight but on  re-entry   drowned in the ocean as his flotation device  failed.

The Gatling gun , developed during the American Civil War.... first used in  1861... was the
first successful machine gun   ..... capable of firing 200 rounds per minute.

The Maxim Gun came out in 1884.... this was the  first truly automatic  machine gun.... capable of firing 500 rounds  per minute.    Maxim   emigrated to England  where he was knighted by Queen Victoria  in  1901.

The MI6  was founded in 1909   as the overseas arm of the SIS  (  Secret Intelligence Service )
 The MI5  was also founded in 1909   as the intelligence agency for internal security and domestic counter intelligence.

The Gestapo was established in 1933 and took over the role of the Prussian Secret Police.
From 1934 the Gestapo's   role was  extended  over the whole of Germany.... with the exception
of Bavaria..... which came under  Himmler and his SS  troops.
   Later  Goering handed over control of the Gestapo to Himmler.

James Bond was introduced to the world in 1953  with the publication of Casino Royale.
