The mysterious Count Saint Germain.... friend of King Louis the 15th and Madame de Pompadour,
friend of Voltaire... of Casanova... of King Frederick the Great.... of Catherine the Great....
He seems to have been everywhere during the 18th century.... perhaps he was a spy ?
perhaps he was a charletan and a confidence trickster?

Strangely he was never seen to eat at all the great palaces and houses he attended...
he never drank wine either !
He was a great raconteur... a musician... a painter... an alchemist....
he was a kind of 'renaissance man'.
