He only spent a few weeks  on the Galapagos Islands.

Guy de Maupassant wrote  6 novels and 300 short stories.
He endured mental illness for much of his adult life and died insane.

  The novel with its theme of homosexuality,  created quite a stir on its appearance
in  1889.


 Laurence of Arabia learned arabic and travelled around North Africa.
In his book... 'The  Seven Pillars of Wisdom'... he describes his experiences in the Arab struggle.
He was disappointed when Britain and France did n't give the arabs complete independence.

Louis  14th  became King of France at the  tender  age of  4   .....in  the year 1643.
 He ruled France for  72  years till his death in  1715.
